VoCoVo Talks New Products and an Exciting New Brand at This Year’s RetailEXPO

Article by Martyn Jones | 19th April 2019

With this year’s Retail Business Technology Expo (RBTE) due to kick off in Olympia, London, from 1-2 May, technology companies are preparing their stands to showcase their latest products.

This year, RetailExpo will be bigger and better than ever for VoCoVo as we launch our new brand as well as the latest developments in our product range to integrate with retail technology. Our aim is to help brick-and-mortar retailers compete with online giants by supporting them to provide exceptional customer service.

At VoCoVo’s stand this year, we’ll showcase our solutions to improve customer experience, reduce costs in store, and boost team motivation. How, you ask? Think weight sensitive shelving, customer geolocation, loss prevention, dynamic cameras, and more.

Read on to discover how our new developments fit with the future of the retail industry and why we think RBTE is the best place to launch our future in retail communication technology.

RBTE: What is it and how does it work?

RBTE is one of three major UK retail shows alongside the Retail Design Expo (RDE), and Retail Digital Signage Expo (RDSE), and attracts senior decision makers from Tier 1 retailers across Europe. For the first time, all three retail shows have been united under one umbrella event, RetailEXPO, to give visitors one incredible, multi-dimensional experience.

‘RetailEXPO has listened to the industry and responded to our needs by incorporating one dedicated event for the entire retail community – allowing whole teams to explore the latest innovations and inspirations in retail.’

Kathryn Mannoch, Head of Customer Experience, Hammerson

RBTE, now referred to as Tech Zone, is a dedicated area for retail technology: solutions, insights, innovations, and more. With a vast list of high-priority business stakeholders visiting the event, RBTE offers the perfect stage for exhibitors to showcase retail solutions in all things retail technology, from payments and customer experience to Blockchain and facial recognition.

Industry trends and the future of retail

The widespread adoption of ecommerce continues to raise questions about the future of brick-and-mortar retail. It’s no secret that physical stores are struggling to satisfy ever greater customer expectations, while even established high-street names are closing their doors due to the popularity and convenience of online shopping.

This challenging retail environment raises the profile of events such as RBTE and RetailEXPO, which aim to provide a platform for Tier 1 retailers to learn and trial new and innovative ways to help them adapt to customer expectations. From headsets, call points, and keypads, colleagues can communicate with each other instantly at a touch of a button, helping to not only increase productivity, efficiency, and customer experience within the store but also promoting a safer environment for colleagues to work in.

For VoCoVo, 2019 has already been an amazing year with some of the biggest names in UK and European retail adopting our innovative technology communications in their stores. Most notably, the recent launch of Primark’s new flagship store in Birmingham – entering the Guinness Book of Records for being the largest fashion store in the world – has deployed VoCoVo headsets throughout, enabling colleagues from across the store to communicate instantly.

Perhaps this store and the example it sets can be the catalyst for the future direction of retail. Here at VoCoVo, we say ‘long live high-street retailers’.
