Merry Christmas from everyone at VoCoVo

Christmas is a time to reflect on the past and plan for the future. Here’s what we’ve been up to this year, and what’s in store for 2023.

It’s been another eventful year at VoCoVo headquarters. After two years of pandemic disruption, it was great to get back out there and reconnect with our customers. We’ve won awards, attended international events and brought many new businesses into the fold. 

We couldn’t have done this without your support. As Christmas approaches, we wanted to take a look back at a busy year, and  say thank you to everyone who’s helped us along the way. Let’s raise a glass to VoCoVo, and to our wonderful customers!

 

A great place to work

VoCoVo is all about making life easier for those on the shop floor. With staff shortages still common, we hope that our products can relieve some of the pressure on colleagues. 

This goes for our own team as well. We’ve always prided ourselves on our commitment to employee wellbeing and, earlier this year, our efforts were rewarded. 

We were named the 37th best small company to work for in the annual Best Companies league table, putting us third overall in the UK telecoms sector. These results are based on a colleague survey, so they paint a truly honest picture of company life. 95% of our employees agreed that working for VoCoVo was good for their personal development, and 92% praised the supportive nature of their team. 

We’re so proud of this achievement, and we hope to place even higher next year. As our Chief Financial Officer and People Ops Kate Bedbrough explains, wellbeing always comes first at VoCoVo:

“We want to provide a place where our employees can be the best version of themselves, working in a role that truly fulfils and challenges them.”

 

Getting out and about

Zoom meetings are all well and good, but there’s nothing like meeting customers face to face. That’s why we were keen to make up for lost time this year by attending as many industry events as possible. 

We spent the year criss-crossing the UK and North America, absorbing knowledge and contributing our own expertise wherever we could. Highlights included the Retail Technology Show in London, and NRF Protect in Cleveland. 

We’re picking up where we left off in 2023, attending NRF’s Big Show in New York in January. Come and see us at booth 1502, or watch this space for all the news from the event. 

 

Standing up to the criminals

We believe that everyone deserves to feel safe at work, and that’s why we were thrilled to join the Loss Prevention Research Council (LPRC) earlier this year. This organisation does amazing work, using scientific methods to create an accurate picture of crime patterns in stores. 

Empowering colleagues to tackle theft has always been one of our main goals. Now, as LPRC members, we have access to a wealth of new resources to help us in this mission. We were also able to attend the annual LPRC Impact conference in Florida. This was a true meeting of the minds, with leading researchers, retailers and law enforcement representatives all sharing their expertise.  

It feels great to be on the frontline of the war on shoplifting, and we look forward to continuing the fight in 2023. 

 

Face the new year with confidence

There’s no denying that 2023 will be tough. The war in Ukraine will continue to disrupt supply chains, while high living costs will mean less money in your customers’ pockets. Whatever happens, though, you can rest assured that we will be there to support you. To all retailers big and small, we wish you a merry Christmas and a successful new year!
